The Opportunity
The Contract Specialist will support the Manager, Contracts through the creation of RFPs, the collection of spend and usage data, the analysis of vendor performance, contracts including notifications of renewal requirements and the development and reporting of KPIs.
In this role, you will:
- Research, source and negotiate quality, pricing and delivery of products using historical and other benchmarking data to ensure competitive pricing.
- Administer the commercial aspects of contracts, as required.
- Analyse the performance of vendors on an ongoing basis in line with their contract.
- Develop KPI’s (Key Performance Indicator’s) and report KPI data to the Procurement Specialist and other stakeholders as required.
- Ensure DPWC procurement policies and protocols are maintained.
- Support the Procurement Specialist to positively drive agreed initiatives, propose new initiatives and adopt a sense of continuous improvement.
- Track notifications including contract renewals, and requirements for renewal and updating the Procurement Specialist in a timely manner.
- Collect, record and report on data relating to spend and usage.
- Prepare and issue RFQ/RFP for specified goods and/or services to support the various terminals and capital projects.
What you bring to the role:
- Post-secondary training in Business Administration and/or at least 5 -7 years experience.
- SCMP would be an asset.
- Strong organizational, planning and analytical skills, with attention to detail so that workflow is managed efficiently and accurately.
- Excellent computer skills, including MS Office, and the proven ability to learn new systems quickly.
- Customer service orientation with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels within the organization.
- Proven ability to exercise judgment within generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for achieving desired results.
- Motivation and the capability of working on own your initiative while contributing to the team.
- Previous Canadian work experience or experience working directly with Canadian industries.
- Fluent in English.
