We are looking for a Full-Time **Kitchen Lead Cook**

**LOCATION**

668 Bloor St W, Toronto ON M6G 1L2

**SALARY**

Starting from $18/hour + Tips (If applicable)

**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Maintain kitchen areas with special attention to sanitation
- Exhibits culinary talents by performing day-to-day tasks, producing menu items
- Utilize various kitchen skills and cooking methods to meet brand standards
- Evaluate quality of food product, prep items and final menu items being served to guests
- Monitor food temperatures. Report any discrepancies
- Maintain inventory, stock levels, supplies, and equipment
- Order supplies and equipment
- Supervise kitchen helpers and train new BOH staff
- Collaborate with servers and bar staff to welcome guests
- Comply and action all health, food safety and hygiene standards and policies Smooth communication with vendors
- Create Special food menu
- Becomes responsible for BOH on Kitchen Manager Day off
- Supervise Line cook and train new BOH staff
- Other duties may be assigned

**REQUIREMENTS**

Experience
- Minimum of 2 year of restaurant kitchen/culinary experience required
- Responsible Alcohol Service certifications and Food Handler or equivalent certifications required
- Culinary certification or degree from culinary school preferred
- Japanese culinary experience is an asset

Skills & Qualifications
- Strong communication skills in English; Japanese and French are considered an asset
- Energetic - ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Team player - assist in a positive guest experience however necessary
- Able to work a flexible schedule
- Ability to work standing up for 8-hour shifts
- Ability on occasion to lift up to 25lbs unassisted and carry as required
- Ability to lift and turn throughout the shift
- Ability to twist, turn, reach, and work above shoulder level
- Ability to work in extreme temperature

**Hours of Work**
- Full time position
- must be available to work a minimum of 30 hours.
- Ability to work flexible shifts
- mornings, days, evenings, weekends, holidays
