As the Fur Product Manufacturing Supervisor, you will make a significant impact on our operations, driving the success of our social enterprise. Your responsibilities encompass overseeing manufacturing processes, managing team dynamics, maintaining workshop efficiency, ensuring quality assurance, handling inventory/supplier coordination, and day-to-day administrative tasks

**Team Leadership and Management**

  • Oversee end-to-end manufacturing processes, ensuring seamless operations and timely delivery of products.
  • Foster a positive team atmosphere, motivating and guiding employees to achieve their potential.
  • Set staff schedules in alignment with production targets, optimizing efficiency and productivity.
  • Accurately confirm attendance and record hours for employees.

**Workshop Efficiency and Maintenance**

  • Maintain a tidy and orderly workshop, creating an environment where staff can work efficiently and without interruption.
  • Submit payroll tally sheets to the bookkeeper, ensuring accurate and timely payroll.
  • Handle mail pick up, sorting, and deliveries, ensuring smooth communication with needed parties.
  • Keep inventory of shipping supplies up-to-date and order replenishments as needed.

**Manufacturing and Quality Assurance**

  • Actively participate in the manufacturing process when needed, assisting with product tracing and cutting.
  • Perform quality assurance checks, reviewing, monitoring, and correcting products as necessary.
  • Follow and complete WSCC compliance reporting, ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations.
  • Manage administrative tasks related to grants, demonstrating attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Process daily banking, depositing cheques for payment of retail wholesale orders.

**Inventory Management and Supplier Liaising**

  • Schedule raw material ordering based on selection, size, and grade needs, optimizing inventory levels.
  • Liaise with distribution and shipping suppliers, coordinating timely deliveries and resolving any issues that may arise.
  • Receive and confirm supply orders in the inventory management system, maintaining accurate records.
  • Oversee the grading of furs upon receipt, promptly communicating any deviations from order expectations.
  • Maintain inventory of production tools, ensuring proper maintenance and reordering when necessary.
  • Record and track raw materials inventory, managing stock levels efficiently.
  • Proactively order shipping supplies before inventory reaches low levels, preventing any disruptions.

**Qualifications for this role include**

  • Experience in previous manufacturing supervisory roles an asset.
  • Passion for naturally-biodegradable products, sustainability, and reconciliation.
  • Willingness to learn and teach artisanal skills in working with fur.
  • Strong communication abilities to effectively convey ideas and information.
  • Possession of a Class 5 driver's license.
  • Successful completion of WSCC training certification upon hiring.

**Salary**: $26.00-$32.00 per hour
