**VISION**:
At the Ontario Native Women’s Association (ONWA), we celebrate and honor the safety and healing of Indigenous Women and Girls as they take up their leadership roles in the family, community, provincially, nationally, and internationally for generations to come.
**SCOPE**:
The **Land Based Coordinator **(Traditional Knowledge keeper) position is a key component in the delivery of the ONWA Health and Community Development Program and ensures a range of wholistic services. This position will support land-based activities within the Mindimooyenh team, medicine harvesting and traditional healing through ceremony and by offering Indigenous teachings and guidance to staff.
**QUALIFICATIONS**:
- Knowledge and experience in conducting traditional ceremonies, medicine harvesting including protocol around sweat lodges, pipe, drum etc.
- Strong knowledge and awareness of Indigenous culture, traditions, ceremony and connecting Community Members to cultural practices that can be used in supporting Community Members.
- Thorough knowledge and experience working in and with a gender-based lens/perspective.
- Ability to provide traditional counselling.
- Awareness of the recent, historical, and intergenerational trauma that Indigenous women and their families may have experienced.
- Understanding of cultural trauma-informed care and wise practices in providing trauma-informed care.
- A willingness to work flexible hours as needed to provide ongoing support and services to Community Members.
- A knowledge of traditional food preparation.
- Ability to travel when required.
- Ability to speak an Indigenous Language is considered an asset.
- Must be dependable, able to follow instructions, respond to management direction and be able to improve performance through management feedback.
- Valid G Class Driver’s License and access to a reliable vehicle with appropriate insurance.
- A cellular phone and internet access is required within this position.
- Must be willing and able to work a flexible working from home arrangement if This may include a combination of virtual remote work in your home and in office arrangements. This will be based on operational needs and will be determined by the ONWA.
- Current, valid vulnerable sector criminal records Valid 1st Aid/CPR.

- As Indigenous leaders, ONWA is continuing full operations including hiring, while working from home, as supporting our community members is a priority. ONWA is scheduling all interviews, and providing all training, onboarding, and orientation for new employees, through the use of virtual tools. We will continue to accommodate remote and home-based work arrangements in an effort to keep our ONWA employees healthy and safe._
