**Location**: Remote with travel to Eastern Georgian Bay

**Duration**: Full-time permanent

**Overview**:
The Georgian Bay Land Trust (GBLT) Land Securement Coordinator is a full-time permanent position that will be responsible for assisting with land securement within the operating area of GBLT. This position reports to the Conservation Director and will focus on the securement of both fee-simple donation and conservation easements on target properties. It will also be responsible for assisting with land securement efforts for GBLT’s Corridor Project. The position is remote but will require travel to Georgian Bay during the summer for property visits. Access to or knowledge of the eastern coast of Georgian Bay is beneficial but not required. Responsibilities would include:

- Identifying priority parcels for securement
- Conducting property visits on target properties
- Liaising with potential landowners and discussing the different donation options
- Assisting with preparing documentation for new acquisitions
- Assisting with the EcoGift process for new acquisitions
- Writing grants for land securement support

These positions will require knowledge of the Georgian Bay environment and will include training regarding priority ecosystem and species mapping. It will require technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to work in small teams effectively.

**Key Responsibilities**:
1. Land Securement
- Review existing mapping to identify priority parcels for acquisition
- Prepare CFCs, BDRs, and PMPs for new acquisitions
- Assist with EcoGift process
- Conduct property visits to potential properties
- Engage potential landowners in discussions regarding donation options

2. Landowner Outreach
- Identify landowners with high priority properties
- Conduct outreach to target landowners
- Run information sessions on the work GBLT does and the various methods for land donation and securement
- Provide updates to potential landowners as land securement is being completed

3. Other Activities
- Attend training with other GBLT staff on species identification, ecosystem classification, and other related activities
- Engage partners on land securement projects and initiatives
- Assist with GBLT events and attend relevant conferences and webinars
- Contribute to GBLT publications and reports

**Skills & Aptitudes**:

- Interest in the conservation of eastern Georgian Bay
- Familiar with environmental science and natural heritage of the region
- Personable and able to effectively communicate
- Interest in outdoor recreation and familiarity with reading maps and working with GPS
- Familiarity with the ecosystem of Georgian Bay, as well as species assemblages
- Able to work well in small groups to accomplish specific goals and tasks quickly and efficiently
- Must be prepared to work flexible hours, including some weekends
- Connection to Georgian Bay or ability to work on Georgian Bay during the summer beneficial
- Be familiar with and share the mission and objectives of the Georgian Bay Land Trust

Anticipated start date: Monday March 17, 2025

**Salary**: $55,000 - $65,000

Boat gas and expenses will be covered.
