Working out of our Head Office in beautiful Nanaimo, BC, the Health and Safety Administrator is responsible for effectively assisting with all administrative functions related to the safety within the company. Some tasks may include, but are not limited to: general administrative duties, communication and documentation, tracking safety performance, and employee training record keeping. This role will control and ensure confidentiality is maintained on all sensitive information.
**Key Responsibilities and Duties**:
General Administrative Duties
- Prepare site specific safety plans and safe work procedures
- Joint Health and Safety Committee participation
- Prepare reports and keep statistics
- Order safety/quality supplies: stationary and equipment
- Copy, scan and file documents
Communication and Documentation
- Format and maintain documents
- Obtain documents such as clearance letters, premium rate statements
- Manage, collect and maintain site safety documentation
Tracking Safety Performance
- Maintain training records
- Organize training
- Organize drug and alcohol testing
Manage multiple priorities ensuring all administrative deadlines and paperwork submission is complete.
- Strong administration skills; attention to detail.
- Strong computer skills, including Outlook, Word, Excel and online research.
- Committed to safety, quality, and productivity.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple duties and priorities simultaneously.
- Willingness to pitch in wherever needed.
- Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment.
- Valid Driver’s license.
Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour

Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Nanaimo, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
