**Role Summary and Responsibilities**:
Reporting to the Assistant Executive Director, or designate, the Maintenance Operator enhances the dignity and quality of life of our clients through his/her assumed responsibility in property management. This is accomplished through the timeliness and quality of day to-day repairs, maintenance and preventative maintenance of all Good Shepherd Ministries' property and equipment.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:
Job duties include but are not limited to:

- To carry out day to day preventative maintenance and timely repairs of all Good Shepherd Ministries property and equipment.
- To complete and record Fire and Safety inspections and carry out all necessary safety system repairs as required.
- To issue maintenance repair orders to the approved service contractors and to retain a record of repair work completed.
- To perform any other job-related task that may from time to time be assigned by the Assistant Executive Director or designate.

**Qualifications**:

- Experience in property maintenance through a vocational qualification in at least one of the construction industries’ certified courses or equal work related experience.
- An ability to appreciate the complexity and demands of ‘hard to serve’ individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Organizational skills to prioritize workload and a demonstrated ability to provide direction and supervision to contractors.
- Excellent written communication skills to prepare written reports and instructions, order supplies, obtain job or equipment quotations, prepare inspection or maintenance reports and maintain Good Shepherd Ministries required documentation.
- A sound knowledge in workplace safety and hazardous materials/chemicals through experience and/or related courses (e.g. WHMIS) is essential as well as CPR First Aid acquired through a recognised program.

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: $29.03-$29.75 per hour

Expected hours: 8 per week
