The Club is looking for an experienced Banquet Lead to join our Food & Beverage Department. Banquet Leads are responsible for positive member interactions while serving members in a friendly and efficient manner and play an integral role in ensuring our members have exceptional event experiences. At all times, Banquet Leads are expected to be attentive to member needs, making them feel welcome, comfortable, important, and relaxed. Banquet Leads are responsible for ensuring accurate banquet set up in reflection of the BEOs.
**Responsibilities**
- Lead the event set-up and ensure floorplan accuracy, service needs, décor, bar requirements are in place according to event specifications (BEO).
- Coordinate event set-up and take down activities with servers, kitchen staff, and facilities staff.
- Conduct pre-event walkthrough to ensure all elements for event are in place according to event specifications.
- Collaborate closely with the Event Manager/Coordinator to address any issues or concerns during events and implement solutions to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Conduct regular inspections of event spaces and service areas to ensure cleanliness, organization, and adherence to club standards.
- Maintain accurate records of event details, including guest counts, special requests, and service notes.
- Assist in maintaining inventory levels for banquet supplies, including glassware, flatware, and linens, and report any shortages or damages to Event Manager/Coordinator.
- Train staff on service standards, procedures, and club policies ensuring consistency and excellence in service delivery.
- Maintain strong communication with the kitchen leaders - Executive Chef, Senior Sous Chef, Sous Chef and/or Chef de Partie to serve as liaison between kitchen and staff.
- Communicate pop-up special requirements, dietary restrictions and other guest requests to the kitchen leads throughout the event.
- Monitor food quality and presentation during banquets, working closely with the kitchen leads to address any issues or concerns.
- Complete post-event reports summarizing service performance, guest feedback, and any incidents or issues encountered during events.
- Complete billing for events as directed by Event Manager and Event Coordinator.
- Perform all responsibilities of the Server and/or Asst. Server.
- Other duties as directed.
Health and Safety:
- Works in a manner that protects their health and safety, the safety of fellow employees, and members.
- Works in compliance with Occupational Health & Safety Act and follows Club health & safety policies and procedures.
- Uses personal protective equipment and clothing as directed by the Club.
- Reports any workplace hazards and dangers to the Supervisor.
- Knows all emergency procedures and being able to respond accordingly. Also assists the Club by reporting any unusual activities or individuals to the Manager on Duty.
Member Service:
- Assists members and guests in a helpful, efficient, friendly, and enthusiastic manner when providing services.
- Assists to provide an excellent experience for Club members and guests.
**Qualifications**
- At least 5 years of serving experience in hospitality-related industry, as well as prior experience in leading events and banquets is required; Private Club experience is an asset
- Food Handler’s certification and Smart Serve certification required
- Strong multi-tasking abilities and organizational skills; exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- Must have basic knowledge of Safety and Sanitation Regulations, and knowledge related to the food and beverage menus
- Must have the ability to provide an advanced level of customer service, and maintain performance standards and professionalism during peak periods and stressful situations
- Advanced knowledge of the POS system
Pay: $20.44 per hour
Expected hours: 37.5 per week

- Serving: 5 years (preferred)
- event or banquet leading: 1 year (preferred)
