**Opportunity**:
MacEwan University is seeking a Project Coordinator for a full-time continuing opportunity with our Facilities Projects Admin department.
Reporting to the Director, Planning and Projects, you are a key member of the project team who will provide project management support and coordination of activities for the Facilities Project Management Team. You will focus on specific deliverables, parts of projects, and/or sub-projects with scheduling, organizing, data gathering, progress updating, recordkeeping, and reporting. You are also responsible for leading the development, design and construction of simple or small-scale capital building projects, infrastructure improvement projects and strategic university sponsored projects, valued at up to $5M. You will employ project management best practices and methods to ensure work is planned and executed to meet applicable University standards, quality, code, regulatory and stakeholder requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting the delivery of capital projects to ensure they are delivered within scope, budget, time and quality to project sponsor and stakeholder satisfaction;
- Scheduling and coordinating project activities including resources, equipment and labour, and conducting site visits as necessary to ensure the project is on-track;
- Supporting and assisting the Project Manager in developing and monitoring project budgets and forecasts;
- Assisting in the preparation of cost estimates and project schedules;
- Preparing and issuing accurate supporting project documentation as required, including contracts, change orders, work orders, purchase orders, etc., and ensuring necessary documentation is received from other parties (internal/external);
- Employing project management best practices and methods to ensure work is planned and executed to meet applicable University standards, quality, code, regulatory and stakeholder requirements;
- Managing external consultants and providing oversight and direction to internal staff in the project and scope definition, design, planning, procurement, contract management and commissioning of infrastructural and capital renewal projects; and
- Organizing and implementing project execution through effective coordination of resources.
