This is a 1 year full time Contract Position.

Reporting to the Manager, Data and Reporting, the Health Data Analyst is responsible for the provision of expertise in a diverse range of data analytics functions including data collection, data integration, data reporting, analysis, interpretation and visualization of data.

This position will support diverse ICS teams to achieve their operational goals and resolve issues as they arise. It will require knowledge of database, analytic data holdings and methodology and the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, both internal and external.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Support the collection of data for reporting and analytics;
- Develop back-end reports to extract raw data from health information system;
- Identify, analyze and interpret trends or patterns in data sets and develop actionable recommendations for business leaders;
- Assist in the creation or enhancement of a data presentation tool
- Compile and process data for metrics and reporting, analytics and dashboard creation.
- Supports others in the daily use of data systems
- Demonstrate knowledge of Standards of Practice guidelines of Provincial regulating body and liaise with Provincial regulating body as required;
- Consult with ICS Programs and Services and external partner organizations as required.
- Ensure accuracy, timeliness and availability of data and Reporting is produced for ICS recommendations and decision making.
- Maintain department standards and procedures as required, including policies for ensuring appropriate access to and sharing of sensitive health data.
- Promote Bayshore Health Care, ICS through participation in local healthcare or business committees as well as community events;
- Participate in ongoing internal and/or external continuing education activities
- Adhere to Bayshore Policies and Procedures
- Participates in proactive Health & Safety activities while performing all duties. Is responsible to notify immediate Supervisor of any Health & Safety risks or concerns.
- Maintains confidentiality of client and corporate information and discusses same only with appropriate Bayshore personnel
- Demonstrate solid performance or exceed performance standards in key job dimensions/attributes as defined on the Performance Appraisal
- Participate in business development as appropriate
- Complete other tasks as requested.

**REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS**

The Health Data Analyst position reports to the Manager, Data and Reporting

Job Qualification

**Education and Training**
- Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Computer Science or equivalent combination of education and experience

**Experience**
- A minimum of one (1) year recent related experience in data analytics and/or the health information field in a large, complex organization

**Other Skills & Abilities**
- Demonstrated ability to respond to the needs of stakeholders supported by an acute awareness of the impact of action.
- Ability to foster collaboration with diverse clinical and non-clinical groups and communicate with people at different areas
- Demonstrated ability to problem-solve in order to incorporate the organization’s systems and strategies when developing viable solutions to problems.
- Strong knowledge of industry standard data analytic, data and statistical software, data visualization and business intelligence tools
- Strong knowledge in data visualizations
- Knowledge in SQL server databse and SQl is required
- Knowledge on databse, ETL, R, Python, PowerBI an asset
- Demonstrated track record of delivering results with excellent financial and quality management, project management and risk management experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to patient and staff safety
- Shared leadership skills with the ability to foster collaboration and shared direction among diverse clinical and non-clinical groups

STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCE

The Health Data Analyst must demonstrate ongoing competency in completing all duties and responsibilities of this job description, in response to changes by the regulating body, as well as agreed upon specific goals and objectives.

PERFORMANCE REVIEW

Performance will be reviewed on an ongoing basis with a formal review at the end of the six month probationary period and subsequently, on at least an annual basis. Input will be sought from employee, Supervisor, Branch Office and Field employees, and in addition, will be based on ongoing client feedback and the extent to which performance meets expectations.
