Reporting to the Dean for the JR Shaw School of Business, the Associate Dean is a senior leadership position that provides strategic direction and operational oversight for the school's academic programs. This key leadership position also provides guidance and oversight to the school and its programs on scholarly activities, and external engagement. The Associate Dean fosters excellence in teaching, learning, scholarly activity and applied research, and nurtures a culture of innovation and collaboration within the school, the Institute, and with our external partners.
**Key Responsibilities**:
**Academic Leadership**:
Provide leadership and guidance to program leaders and educational delivery teams.
Oversee curriculum and pathways development, program reviews, and continuous improvement processes.
Foster a culture of teaching excellence and innovation.
Champion academic needs with institutional support areas.
**Student Success**:
Champion student-centered approaches to teaching and learning.
Support student recruitment and oversee retention, and progression initiatives.
Ensure effective and accessible support services are available for students.
**Academic Operations**:
Oversee enrolment management, budget planning, and financial management.
Ensure effective use of resources and infrastructure.
Support human resources management and staff development.
**External Engagement**:
Foster partnerships with industry, government, and community organizations.
Ensure programs meet the current and future needs of industry.
Promote experiential learning and applied research.
**Strategic Planning and Quality Assurance**:
Contribute to the development of the school's strategic plan.
Oversee quality assurance processes and accreditation.
Ensure compliance with institutional policies and procedures.

**Qualifications**:
Graduate degree in Business with experience in Accounting or Finance considered an asset
Other combinations of formal education and professional designations may be considered
3-5 years related senior academic leadership experience preferably in an educational context
Applicants with education credentials earned outside of Canada should have their credentials evaluated by World Education Services or the International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS).
**Remuneration**: $130,330 - $156,000 annually, plus a comprehensive benefits package. Will be commensurate with education and experience.
