**Payroll Assistant**

BSA Wiberg is a fast-growing, Oakville, ON-based company that provides a complete end-to-end payroll solution to the food service industry. We are looking for an experienced Payroll Assistant to join our team and help us grow.

**Responsibilities**
- Assisting payroll manager in processing biweekly payroll (approximately 70 employees, hourly and salary)
- Adding new employees to Ontario punch system (TimeVue); downloading employee punches report to input into Excel for payroll processing; verifying hours with supervisors. Adding new employees to the payroll system
- Creating and maintaining employee payroll files (hiring documents, pay period documents, ROEs, etc.)
- Issuing ROEs through the payroll system
- Creating biweekly payroll journal entries
- Submitting completed group benefit enrolment forms from employees to payroll manager for enrolment in company insurance program; issuing drug cards to employees after they have been added to the company’s group benefits program
- Verifying and submitting completed other payrolls forms from employees to payroll manager
- Answering payroll related questions from employees and managers
- All other tasks requested by the manager.
- Receive vendor invoices, verify prices and quantities received against purchase orders. Investigate discrepancies and work with purchasing to correct
- For non-inventory purchases, get approval from a manager and confirm correct expense GL
- Enter invoices in the system within 5 days of receipt
- Liaise with suppliers
- Ensure that all bank transactions related to AP are recorded in a timely manner
- Process credit card statements
- At month end, update schedules for prepaid expenses, accrued liabilities, goods received not invoiced, goods in transit, and reconcile to GL. Reconcile AP subledger to GL.
- Twice a month, provide a report for invoices from previous periods recorded in the current month, with detailed expense allocation
- When required, assist with Accounts Receivable, inventory counts and reconciliation, month end journal entries, financial audits, and other ad-hoc reports

Qualifications:

- Must be able to work independently in a fast paced environment.
- Minimum 2 years of AP experience, including reconciliations
- Must be able to work with others in a team environment.
- Experience with ERP system and ability to find and extract information. Knowledge of Visual Manufacturing is a strong asset
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- French is an asset
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
