**Job Description Summary**:
If you are a strong critical thinker, have great attention to detail, and a passion for life sciences then this might be the role for you. STEMCELL Technologies, Canada’s largest biotechnology company is looking for a Quality Control Specialist, Pluripotent Stem Cell Media, to join our QC team.

As a QC Specialist you are responsible for advanced laboratory testing including performing a wide range of assays, operating various instruments, and all analysis and documentation in compliance with our quality management system and ensuring adherence to applicable regulatory requirements. In this role you will work collaboratively with other departments and play a vital role in ensuring the quality, safety, and compliance of our products and processes while working with the latest technology and products in the biotechnology field.

Please note that this is a 12 month fixed term position, with the opportunity to convert into a permanent role.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Perform QC tests for specialized media products in accordance with approved procedures and regulatory requirements, including data analysis and report preparation
- Develop QC testing procedures, including revising and writing SOPs
- Work in collaboration with other departments including but not limited to Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, and Process Development to resolve problems and troubleshoot issues
- Participate in process improvement initiatives and contribute to continuous improvement efforts
- Operate, maintain, and calibrate laboratory instruments and equipment, ensuring their proper functioning and accuracy, including validation, and performance verification

**Knowledge and Qualifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant life sciences field (e.g., biochemistry, biology, biotechnology, or a related discipline), with 2-6 years of relevant experience
- Experience with mammalian cell culture, performance testing, and working with a quality management system (QMS)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with experience of documentation, writing reports, and writing SOPs
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
- Previous experience in cell culture, aseptic techniques, working in biosafety cabinets, and familiarity with ISO and GMP regulations is an asset
