**About the Job**

**The impact you’ll have**
- Management_
- Oversee the operations of the finance department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives; manage all areas of accounting including A/R, A/P, GL, payroll, treasury and operations
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
- Reporting_
- Issue timely and complete consolidated financial statements in accordance with IFRS, with the ability to close the month in 3 business days and quarter in 5 business days.
- Coordinate the preparation of corporate and statutory quarterly and annual filings
- Prepare consolidation entries for all subsidiaries
- Calculate and issue financial and operating metrics; recommend benchmarks against which to measure the performance of company operations
- Provide a supporting schedule for accruals, prepaids, and others as needed.
- Assist in the production of the annual budget and forecasts
- Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management
- Tax and other external compliance_
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
- Lead the annual audit by coordinating and providing the information to external auditors and schedule interim audit work so that the annual audited financial statements will be available by February’s BOD meeting
- Complete filing of annual reports required for a private company and any new reporting required if the Company transitions into a public company
- Manage the compliance of government grants and loans (SR&ED, WINN, IRAP and RRRF)

**The value you’ll bring**
- 5+ years of progressively responsible financial experience with an accounting firm or a major company or division of a large corporation; preference given to those in an entity with global exposure or in the technology space
- Experience leading a team with multiple direct reports
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration; or equivalent business experience
- Certified accountant designation (CPA), preference with ‘Big 4 experience’
- Demonstrated knowledge of mergers & acquisitions including the integration of businesses and/or eventual sale
