The award-winning Vancouver Convention Centre owned and operated by the BC Pavilion Corporation (PavCo), is currently searching for casual Guest Experience Ambassadors to join our team.
Reporting to the Manager, Guest Experience, this position will be responsible for providing concierge services and be the first point of contact for guests and clients of the Vancouver Convention Centre. The Guest Ambassador will ensure all guests are met with a courteous and professional welcome while upholding our service excellence standards by responding to any inquiries or provide direction to event spaces.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Welcomes and greets all visitors to the facility.
- Answers guest or client inquiries. Handles guest comments and concerns in a timely and professional manner, ensuring guests’ needs are met to the highest level of satisfaction.
- Answers and directs calls as appropriate.
- Directs guests and clients to their event spaces.
- Provides tourist, city, transport and restaurant information to guests and clients.
- Operates the business centre and the Lost and Found departments.
- Provides site tours for visitors and provides accurate information about.
- Monitors local websites for upcoming events to ensure information is accurate.
- Participates as an Event Host for a variety of events in the facility.
- Monitors the site for any suspicious activity and redirect or report to Security team to ensure the safety of all guests, clients and team members.
- Ensures the lobby and front desk are clean, tidy and well maintained.

EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Combination of post-secondary education in Business, Hospitality, or Event Management and 1-3 years’ relevant work experience in a customer service role.
- Exceptional communication skills, able to clearly express ideas, thoughts and concepts verbally and in writing. Speaks clearly and distinctly in a professional, friendly and effective manner.
- You must be physically able to stand for extended periods of time.
- Knowledge and experience using MS Office including Word, Excel, Outlook and other related software.
- Basic knowledge of EBMS or a general central reservations system.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate in a team environment and able to work independently.
- Passionate and committed to providing outstanding experiences for guests and clients.
- Friendly and personable demeanour.
