**Interested?**
Reporting to the Shift Supervisor this position is responsible for all aspects of the safe and proper loading of products refined at the Moose Jaw Refinery into rail cars.
**What You'll Be Doing**
Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure all required placards are in place and all required paperwork has been completed in compliance with company procedures and TDG Regulations.
- Ensure that all spills and incidents are reported to the Operations Supervisor.
Project Delivery
- Participate in project HAZOPs and provide support to projects as required.
- May provide operational support and input during Initiation and Development phases of growth projects.
- Review of operational activities pertaining to Operational Readiness and Commissioning & Start-up during Execution Phase to ensure they are complete.
- May act as liaison for Operations on project teams.
General
- Review and ensure rail cars are properly secured prior to commencement of loading operations, complete inspection, load rail cars with proper products, ensure placards are in place and maintain all equipment.
- Responsible for the regular upkeep, housekeeping and minor maintenance of all equipment related to rail loading facilities.
- Obtain product samples and investigate quality issues.
- Identify and provide recommendations for rail car loading enhancement and optimization.
- Provide emergency response, on-call support and relief coverage for facility management as required.
- Complete shift handover to ensure the incoming operator is aware of all activities underway and the hazards associated with those activities.
- Demonstrate a personal commitment and proactive approach to Health, Safety, Security & Environment (HSS&E) through participation in all applicable HSS&E programs. Ensure safe operation of rail car loading in compliance with safety policies, procedures and guidelines
- May perform other duties as assigned.
**What You'll Bring**
- Certified in the Transportation of Dangerous Goods preferred.
- 1+ year(s) related industry experience, either in a refinery or rail environment is preferred
- Familiar with the location and operation, shutdown, start-up and emergency procedures of all equipment related to rail car loading.
- Proficient in the use of PC’s and Microsoft Windows software, including Word and Excel.
- A certificate in 4th Class Power Engineering is considered an asset, or a desire to pursue the certification.
**Key Skills**
- Functional technical skills with the ability to:
- Troubleshoot equipment issues
- Review and complete paperwork related to handling and shipping of products.
- Perform Hazard ID’s to ensure the plant is safe to operate and that all Hazards are properly identified and addressed.
- Work collaboratively and effectively with other members of the operations team as well as operation management at Moose Jaw.
- Express ideas clearly, both in written and oral communication.
- Represent and promote the company in a responsible, positive and professional manner.
- Ability to prioritize assignments, deal with interruptions, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment, while not sacrificing safety or the attention to detail.
- Self-motivated, team player with the able to work well under pressure.
**Working Conditions and Physical Requirements**
- Work involves hands-on operation of equipment in an outdoor environment.
- Must be available for regular schedule
