The Manager, Financial Planning and Analysis, is a key role within the organizational Finance strategic direction. This position is crucial for fostering a culture of financial stewardship with enhanced financial controls and accountability, particularly in the areas of planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes for the Hospital. This role involves leading financial planning analysts to provide support to senior administration, directors and managers across the Hospital.

The Manager will coordinate and review inputs for financial planning, annual operating plan and budget, and the monthly and quarterly financial analysis and reporting. They will proactively manage risks, assess opportunities, and provide strategic advice on the efficient and effective allocation of resources. The Manager will also lead the delivery of timely, value-added support to all stakeholders on matters impacting financial operations and financial sustainability projects. The Manager will work collaboratively with internal stakeholders while establishing strong relationships with peer hospitals, Ontario Health and the Ministry of Health (MOH). This position will also focus the team’s efforts in continuously improving its policies and processes, systems and controls and assisting in Finance corporate goals and strategies.

The Manager assists in other monthly, quarterly and annual financial and statistical reports in cooperation with the Manager, Financial Accounting and Reporting, and Director, Financial Services to ensure all transactions are accurately identified and recorded. Represents the Finance Department as well as provide leadership input on various hospital committees in coordination with other management staff in the Finance Department.

**EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS**
- A four-year undergraduate university degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or equivalent
- Professional accounting designation - CPA (CA, CMA, or CGA).
- Five (5) years of relevant financial experience, with progressive leadership responsibilities, ideally in a hospital or the healthcare sector.
- Experience with preparing and analyzing a variety of financial information

**SKILLS REQUIREMENTS**
- Strong knowledge of financial planning & analysis, accounting and reporting principles, internal control concepts, business case development & monitoring.
- Ability to facilitate meetings, conduct effective briefings and presentations, develop consensus, both internally and externally, with people who reflect the full range of diversity in objectives. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience in collaborating and presenting to Senior Management and influencing outcomes at senior levels within the organization.
- Demonstrated high level of initiative and self-direction, flexibility, and ability to adapt to change and competing demands/urgencies with a sense of calm and resilience.

**PREFERRED**:

- Knowledge of MoH MIS / Ontario Hospital Reporting System (OHRS) reporting guidelines.
- Knowledge of Broader Public Sector Accountability Act.
- LEAN Management or other business process improvement training and experience.
