Oh, and we have a bit of fun while doing it, too **_ *Knak is a hybrid work culture and all of our Ottawa employees are expected to work from the office Tuesday-Thursdays*_** **The Role** Reporting to the Head of Finance, the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Manager will be first-in-role and part of building a world-class finance team at Knak. The FP&A Manager will work with cross-functional leaders to provide insightful financial analyses, create robust financial models and operating budgets, measure meaningful KPIs, and be a strategic navigator. A trusted partner within the business and to the executive team, the FP&A Manager will support departments to ensure we're performing against plan and provide advisory around investments, efficiency, and growth. This is an exciting and rare opportunity to embark on a journey with a fast-growing, award-winning SaaS company backed by top-tier investors and deliver on highly impactful work. **Responsibilities** - **_Financial Modeling:_** You will be deeply involved in learning and enhancing the company's current models. You will be building new financial models that enable leadership to make effective decisions about the company's revenue projections, cost base, and key business drivers. One of your first projects will be assisting with the redesign of the operating and forecasting model. - **_Budgeting & Analysis:_** You will help drive annual and periodic budgeting processes, including preparation, review and analysis, assigning department specific budgets, and tracking monthly / quarterly actuals vs. budget. You will conduct thorough analysis with high quality narratives to inform stakeholders on performance. - **_Business Partnering / Cross-Functional Collaboration:_** Serve as the key finance business partner to departments, assisting them in building out their models, evaluating investment cases, and leading monthly reviews of their budgets. You'll work with Sales and Marketing Operations to collect what's needed to bridge the full picture from funnel to sales pipeline to financial results. - **_Revenue Forecasting & Targets:_** Develop robust revenue forecasting methodology in collaboration with Go To Market (GTM) leaders across Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, and Product. You'll provide guidance on their targets and enable them to plan against gaps or double-down on upside. - **_SaaS Metrics & Benchmarking:_** Enhance and monitor Knak's SaaS metrics and against industry benchmarks / scorecards to give stakeholders guidance on performance. - **_Executive Presentations:_** Assist in developing and preparing monthly / quarterly materials and commentary for executive discussions and board decks. - **_Corporate Planning:_** Work with leaders across the business to develop long-range strategic and financial plans and ensure it is achievable against the company's financial objectives. - **_Strategic Finance:_** Support the Head of Finance and CEO in preparing for any future fundraising processes, M&A activities, due diligence, and company financial strategic initiatives. - **_Ad-Hoc Projects:_** Assist in the planning and implementation of key operational projects such as sales compensation plans, performance dashboards, P&L by dimension, metrics dictionary, etc. **Qualifications**: - You have 5-7+ years of experience in FP&A, corporate finance, investment banking, venture capital, or management consulting roles - Well-versed with SaaS / Technology business models and metrics - Bachelor of Commerce specializing in accounting or finance - You take pride in your work, producing high quality models and reports for internal teams, executives, and board of directors - You have exceptional attention to detail, are obsessed with accuracy, and believe excel / financial modeling is one of your superpowers and are competitive with being the best among your peers - You are passionate about data-driven discussions, giving finance a narrative, and you find ways to bring the "aha" moments and deep level of insights that influence big business decisions - You are a self-starter, hungry to find and deliver on opportunities for new value-add projects, improve on your work, and seek new knowledge / resources - Growth-focused with excellent business partnering / relationship management skills across departments - You love to solve problems - you think about businesses formulaically and are keen to get a view of the levers - You have a strong ability to develop processes, document, and build frameworks to enable fast and efficient growth - Excited to work in a fast moving and growing company - Experience with financial systems and BI tools (e.g. QuickBooks Online,
