We are looking to hire a skilled and experienced full-time **Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Boring Mill Machinist** to join the afternoon shift at our Passmore facility in Scarborough, Ontario. Reporting to the Assistant Plant Manager, the CNC Boring Mill Operator is responsible for accurately machining parts on our CNC Boring Mill equipment for providing high-quality components.
- **Shift: 3:30pm to 12:30am**_
- **Key Duties & Responsibilities**_
- Creating and fabricating metal parts as required by the specifications; and setting-up and operating CNC Boring Mill in accordance with approved safe work procedures.
- Working from process sheets, blueprints, sketches, and/or verbal instructions; reading micrometers, vernier calipers, and checking for tolerances.
- Loading and unloading workpieces onto the machine; adjusting machine settings to achieve desired precision and quality.
- Making necessary adjustments to CNC programs to improve accuracy and efficiency.
- Inspecting finished parts for accuracy and quality, using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and bore gauges.
- Performing routine maintenance on machines, including cleaning, lubrication, and minor repairs; reporting any major machine malfunctions to maintenance personnel.
- Keeping accurate records of machining operations, including set-up sheets, production logs, and quality control reports.
- Maintaining a safe and clean work area, and reporting any broken pieces of equipment; and adhering to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
- **Qualifications**_
- Minimum two-years experience working with CNC TOS Boring Mill or Toshiba Boring Mill equipment; and experience working with Heidenhain, Tosnuc, or Fanuc controls.
- Secondary school education, as well as ample technical knowledge, are required; plus understanding basic trigonometry is an asset.
- Must be comfortable working with large parts; and with using measuring instruments such as an edge finder, micrometers, verniers, bore gauges, thread gauges, gauge blocks, dial indicators, surface tester, and so forth.
- Knowledge of, and familiarity with, drilling, tapping, and milling tools, as well as their respective parameters.
- Experience with manual programming of CNC machines and a thorough understanding of G-code programming are also considered assets.
