We are currently seeking to fill the regular full-time **Operations Specialist **role located in Vancouver, BC. It is an excellent opportunity to bring experience and support top logistics service to customers.
**Responsibilities**:
Reporting to the Regional Manager, the Operations Specialist has the following main responsibilities:
- Handling of both Air and Ocean Operation files (import and export).
- Processing of both Air Triangle shipments and LCL consolidations.
- Booking of cargo and negotiation of ad hoc rates with carriers.
- Shipment’s pickup arrangements and planning.
- Conformity verification of all documentation at time of shipment preparation.
- Building and maintaining of good relations with carriers.
- Read, monitor and respond promptly to all incoming communications (clients and other business partners - domestic and overseas) in order to properly manage and control daily operational issues.
- Verify bookings and get appropriate approvals before relaying information overseas.
- Tracking and tracing of shipments till final destination.
- Conformity review and approval of supplier’s invoices on a timely basis.
- Conformity review and approval of overseas affiliate’s remittance on a timely basis.
- Solving in a diligent and business efficient manner customer complaints and implement measures to prevent their frequency and recurrence.
- Solving of internal and operation problems on a diligent and business efficient manner in order to prevent service deficiencies and/or customers’ dissatisfaction.
- Improving on an ongoing basis internal systems and procedures in order to favor customer service and departmental efficiency.
- Other tasks and duties assigned from time to time by Regional Manager.
**Skills & Attributes**:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in similar position (Air & Ocean, Import & Export) with an International Freight Forwarding organization
- Certification or diploma in a related field of studies
- Good knowledge of Air and Ocean (Import and Export) processes and regulations
- Strong people skills
- Good communication skills and customer service oriented
- Ability to set priorities and organize workload assigned in an efficient manner
- Good computer skills
- Able to work under pressure
