**Position Overview**:
The Special Projects and Fund Development position involves managing grants to fund special projects, representing the organization in dealings with government and community, providing professional project management and analytical expertise. The role also involves cultivating relationships and securing sponsorship opportunities for fundraising opportunities.
**Job Scope**:
The Special Projects and Fund Development position will be responsible for advancing the purpose of Transitions programs by fostering strong relationships, internally and externally. The incumbent will generate donations and manage grant opportunities and/or portfolios. The position is also responsible to work within the guidelines and policies of the organization and is accountable for specific projects as assigned.
**Roles and Responsibilities**:
- Participate in the community to encourage and support community options, bridges and connection, and through liaison with other organizations, groups and agencies
- In collaboration with the Executive Director and Leadership Team, develop appropriate goals, targets and initiatives during planning and budgeting process to ensure alignment throughout the organization with a focus on grants and fundraising
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support social media content for publications and campaigns
- Establish and maintain a resource network that may be accessed to support and enhance service development and delivery
- Responsible for and/or provide assistance to the Leadership Team to ensure projects are developed and implemented, efficiently and effectively
- Develop learning opportunities, both virtually and in-person, create project plans and execute programming for projects
- Attend required meetings, representing Transitions both internally and externally
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge on fundraising best practices and industry trends
- Promote and participate as an ambassador of Transitions in all fundraising activities and events to build relationships with all stakeholders
- Develop and deliver proposals and/or presentations in solicitation of major gifts in line with our organization’s purpose and values
- Communication, acknowledgement and recognition of donations
- Collaborate with team members on the gathering of information for grant reporting, data collection, etc.
- Identify grant opportunities that align with organization’s area(s) of need
- Conduct research and identify potential new grant opportunities, sponsorships and/or social enterprise opportunities
- Build and maintain relationships with people supported, their families, community partners and broader community
- Special tasks, research, projects and/or other assignments, including representing the organization, as required
- Other duties as required
**Skills and Qualifications**:
- Self-starter with an ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Designated as a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) is considered an asset
- Proven project management skills, including the creation of project plans, timelines, coordinating multiple tasks simultaneously, with strong attention to detail
- A solid understanding of resources and supports for people with disabilities including FSDC, PDD and AISH
- Experience in navigation of resources and supports and services for diverse populations. Experiences specifically in St. Albert and Sturgeon County would be considered an asset
- Strong experience in collaborating with internal teams and stakeholders to develop and deliver educational and learning opportunities
- Experienced working in the non-profit sector, complete with donor management
- Experienced in managing Casino fundraising
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to make compelling presentations
- Strong planning and organizational skills, with ability to execute
- Ability to work flexible hours, including events, evenings and weekends
- Passionate about community partnerships that reflect inclusion and belonging
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities and their families
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $31.48-$41.42 per hour
Expected hours: 36.25 per week
