Compensation Range

$6,747.50 - $9,701.42 CAD Monthly

The Compensation Range is the span between the minimum and maximum base salary for a position. The midpoint of the range is approximately halfway between the minimum and the maximum and represents an employee that possesses full job knowledge, qualifications and experience for the position. In the normal course, employees will be hired, transferred or promoted between the minimum and midpoint of the salary range for a job.

The Hari B. Varshney Business Career Centre (BCC) supports business students’ personal and professional development journey to responsible leadership through customized services focused on self-exploration, career development and access to business communities. Our team supports approximately 5,000 students across undergraduate and graduate programs.

The Career Programming Strategist delivers a high-quality level of service to a high-achieving student population with diverse needs, overseeing the full cycle of students’ career journeys at UBC Sauder in partnership with the BCC’s Careers’ teams.

The Career Programming Strategist achieves results in three key areas of responsibility, aligning with career development principles and employing best practices to deliver, assess, and evaluate programs and services to students:
1. Personal and professional development.

2. Access to business community.

3. Service Excellence.

Organizational Status
Reports to the Associate Director, Career Development Programming. Regularly plans, collaborates and leads cross-functional team projects with faculty, colleagues from across the BCC as well as UBC Sauder program offices, including Robert H. Lee Graduate School and Undergraduate Office. May supervise external consultants, support employees and students.

Work Performed

Personal and professional development- Leverages knowledge and expertise in the fields of instructional design and career development to design, deliver and evaluate all BCC-led career development programs (in person and online).- Identifies opportunities within career development programming for students to critically reflect on their learning, to connect it with other learning in their student experience (academic and co-curricular), and to translate it into career learning in relation to the BCC Career Development model.- Develops BCC-wide programming tools and templates including lesson plans, marking rubrics and course evaluations.- Manages the BCC’s Learning Management System (Canvas) and other related platforms, liaising with campus partners such as UBC Centre for Teaching and Learning Technology and UBC Sauder Learning Technology services to enhance the quality of all BCC-led online career development courses.- Manages the development and quality assurance of the BCC’s career content and resources, including Canvas content, and learning resources (such as Career Toolkits, Industry Guides).- Continuously evaluates and innovates the BCC's existing learning tools, resources, and platforms to ensure they are aligned with the Career Development Model and external trends in the world of work.- Develops new career materials, such as PDF resources, videos, or other interactive learning resources, in collaboration with BCC's Service Excellence Team.- Provides career coaching and advising for students, when required, on a variety of career and professional development topics and work search.- Provides facilitation and classroom support to select ca
