What You Will Get To Do
Reporting to the Manager of Operations (Roads/Traffic), or designate, the Supervisor of Operations (Roads/Traffic) is responsible for overseeing the daily operation and supervision of the Roads divisions; urban and rural roads, traffic signs and pavement markings and storm water management; including:
- supervising and directing staff;- providing strong leadership, advice and guidance to staff;- actively reviewing and establishing maintenance standards, work plans and performance expectations for both staff and contractors;- assisting the Manager with the preparation and monitoring of the operating and capital budgets;- preparation of reports and correspondence in response to operational issues;- preparation and administration of work contracts, purchase orders, quotations and tenders;- responding to and resolving public inquiries and complaints;- responding to after-hours emergencies and storm events;- ensuring that federal, provincial and municipal legislative requirements are adhered to including the Occupational Health & Safety Act, the Highway Traffic Act, etc.; and,- other related duties as required.

What You Bring To Our Team
As the successful applicant, you will possess:
- A post-secondary diploma in Civil Engineering or related discipline;- A minimum of four (4) years progressive experience in supervisory role; including utilization of strong management and/or decision making skills, while successfully leading a large work group(s), or equivalent combination of education and experience;- A C.E.T. designation in good standing from the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT) is preferred;- Excellent communication skills in order to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, consultants and the general public;- The ability to work well under pressure to meet deadlines, including organizing and prioritizing workloads;- A demonstrated ab
