Plant Supervisor

**Paramount Pallet is now Hiring Plant Supervisor.**
The Plant Supervisor will supervise the work of all unionized production employees - oversees production and shipping schedules based on availability of raw and finished goods.
Shift Hours: 2:30pm-10:30pm M-F
**Primary Responsibilities and Key Tasks**:
- Provide hands-on leadership as a supervisor, responsible for mentoring and coaching all employees and working through employee relations issues and disciplining as per Company Policy and the CBA
- Support Plant administration to ensure compliance to established policies
- Responsible, in consultation with Depot Sr. Supervisor, for the cost and yield performance of the Plant in partnership with the overall P&L of the Plant
- Support cost control initiatives and process control within the Plant
- Review operations activities to maintain compliance with all Federal, Provincial and local laws (OHSA, ESA)
- Drive Safety improvements initiatives across the Plant
- Ensure the consistent execution of all SOPs throughout the Plant in accordance with the PMS Commercial Organization, Global Supply Chain
- Deliver best operational practices and cost efficiencies across the Plant while maintaining critical quality and raw material utilization standards that are necessary to maintain customer satisfaction and Plant profitability
- Ensure compliance through teamwork for all Standard Operating Procedures within the Plant
- Identify Lean opportunities to effectively eliminate waste
- In partnership with Sr. Supervisor, provide leadership to Plant staff to effectively recruit, train, develop, evaluate, motivate, delegate and monitor their activities
- Available with work weekends as required; flexible to switch shifts when needed
- Other duties as assigned from time to time
**Experience required**:
- 2 - 3 years’ experience in a Plant Supervisory role in a unionized engineering, logistics or manufacturing environment
- Forklift Operations experience a must; certification is desirable (recertification at Paramount is required)
- Strong people management capability including union production workforce
- Demonstrated success in delivering strong employee relations
- Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally
- Experience managing safety performance and programmes

- Excellent communication skills with an ability to listen and understand others

- Ability to multi-task and effectively manage time and resources
- Strong organizational skills and able to manage effectively in a fast paced business with simultaneous priorities
- Decision quality is high, ability to think outside the box to provide to resolve business issues
- Customer focused with a business acumen to understanding the value of the customer
- Drive a forklift
- Six Sigma/Lean certification desirable
- College diploma or equivalent is an asset but not a requirement.
