**Position Title**:Lab Supervisor

**Team and Location**:Parkland Refinery Burnaby, BC

**Salary**: $135,000/annum

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Lead the efforts to ensure the health and safety of people working in the Refinery Lab.
- Manage and supervise the team of lab technicians.
- Ensure compliance with QA/QC standards required by the appropriate regulations and by our customers.
- Ensure the accuracy, quality and timeliness of lab analysis and effectiveness of services provided to customers and stakeholders.
- Manage all aspects of Lab staffing and facilitate the selection process for new hires in the lab including permanent hires, students, or temporary contract help.
- Manage the lab operating expense budget of approximately $2,000,000 per year.
- Manage and facilitate the lab equipment reliability, replacement and upgrades.
- Participate in industry networks as appropriate to ensure compliance with the latest standards and regulations. This may include ASTM and CGSB.
- Be the lab interface with internal refinery stakeholders including operations, VCO, and technical, as well as external auditors.
- Write and submit annual diesel and fuel sulfur compliance reports as required by governing regulations.

**Skills and Qualifications**:

- 8 years of relevant experience.

- Teamwork - Able to work in a team environment to sustain a positive and constructive atmosphere of inclusion and respect within the workplace.

- Organization and Planning - Well organized and experienced in successfully planning and conducting meetings, keeping clear records and files, and documenting plans and processes.
- Time Management ‐ Must be able to manage time effectively and have the ability to provide focus and attention to several key initiatives.
