Job Overview:
Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, this position is responsible for purchasing manufacturing parts for customer orders, maintenance and facility needs.

Essential Responsibilities
- Submit RFQ’s, review quotations for specification compliance and submit for approval;
- Expedite suppliers, be proactive in anticipating and eliminating potential obstacles;
- Review invoices if discrepancies are flagged and resolve with suppliers;
- Identify and take an active role in cost-savings opportunities during regular activities;
- Monitor jobs for part shortages and ensure parts are arriving to meet schedule;
- Backup purchasing team as required;
- Must work in accordance with EH&S regulations, company rules, policies, and procedures.

Basic Qualifications:

- Post-secondary education in a purchasing-related College Diploma program

Desired Characteristics:

- Possess a minimum of 1 year of purchasing experience;
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously;
- Organized, self-starter;
- Detail oriented;
- Working knowledge of business system Profit Key and Teamcenter Active Workspace would be an asset;
- Comfortable individual working under pressure;
- Demonstrate proactive problem-solving ability;
- Ability to read and understand MRP reports, stock status, variance reports;
- Adaptable and willing to learn new processes;
- Able to work in a team environment or independently;
- Able to professionally interface with internal and external customers and suppliers;
- Must be able to meet deadlines and work well under pressure;
- Skills in Microsoft Office (particularly Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Good written and verbal communication skills along with organization skills;
- Possess keyboarding skills;
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative, and team-oriented environment.
