The Opportunity

We are recruiting a Junior Buyer to help facilitate the ongoing and rapid growth at SLEEGERS. This entry-level position is well suited for a recent graduate or someone who is looking to start their career in Supply Chain.

Key Responsibilities:

- Supply planning and placement of purchase orders (PO’s) based on production demand
- Purchase any items required for maintenance
- Follow-up on open PO’s to ensure on-time delivery
- Filing PO’s; both hard and soft copies
- Prepare and submit request for quotations as needed
- Work with the Logistics Team to coordinate shipments to and from suppliers, including packing list and document preparation
- Process non-conforming material from start to end on an expedited basis
- Work with the Accounts Payable Team to resolve any discrepancies with orders
- Coordinate and schedule inter-company transfers as required
- Complete any additional tasks assigned by Supply Chain Leader\

Qualifications:

- 1 - 2 years of experience in an administrative function.
- College degree/diploma in Logistics and Supply Chain Management is considered an asset
- Experience in a manufacturing environment and/or purchasing function is considered an asset
- Exhibits strong initiative and a positive attitude
- Has a willingness to learn and adapt to change
- Excellent organizational, planning and communication skills
- Possesses the ability to complete standard routine tasks
- Analytical and problem resolution skills
- The ability to work accurately with close attention to detail
- The ability to work within a team setting in a fast-paced, growing environment
- Strong interpersonal skills, able to interact comfortably with a wide range of individuals in the organization from executives to support staff, within and outside of the Company
