Human Resource Generalist

**Position Summary**
Reporting to the Director, HR & Corporate Services, the Human Resource Generalist will work collaboratively with various stakeholders in Winnipeg, Arviat and Rankin Inlet, NU to determine training needs, develop plans and coordinate training, whether in-house or through external providers. The incumbent will also be responsible for identifying and ensuring that the organization is compliant with all legislated training and licensing, including WHMIS, TDG, First Aid, mobile equipment, etc. Travel on an as needed basis to Nunavut is also required to visit the various work sites, provide or coordinate training and support safety initiatives.
**Duties & Responsibilities**
- Facilitate training needs analysis and recommend resources and solutions to address skill gaps or legislated training requirements
- Create, update and maintain training plans, materials, supplies, job aids and tools
- Lead facilitation of the WSCC Supervisors course
- Coordinate the EPLS trades apprenticeship program to support participants from intake to completion
- Lead the Health & Safety Committee and provide advice and guidance on compliance and safety training requirements/initiatives
- Seek out the latest research, best practices, systems and tools and identify key trends that will inform current and future learning programs
- Manage external learning management vendor relationships
- Support onboarding for new employees
- Participate in and support continuous improvement initiatives and training
- Maintain accurate training data /records and generate reports as required
- Keep updated on industry training and safety standards/requirements
**Qualifications and Experience**
- Post-Secondary education in Business, Safety, Trades or another relevant field
- Minimum of 3 years related experience in a training/safety role is preferred
- Experience in the retail, construction, transportation or heavy equipment industries is an asset
- Strong knowledge of learning and development best practices and trends including design, development, implementation and evaluation
- Familiarity with provincial safety legislation and requirements
- Aptitude for building strong connections and relationships with different stakeholder groups across the organization
- Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills
- Ability to travel to Nunavut on a quarterly basis
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
**Salary**: $60,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
