The Accounting Manager, under the direction of the Senior Manager of Finance, ensures the completion of full cycle accounting activities as they relate to Bayshore Healthcare, National Development Centre (NDC) and the support of Branch Offices.

**Key Responsibilities**- Manage, coach and mentor the accounting team (4 members)- Manage day-to-day accounting operations
- Responsible for leading the month-end close activities
- Prepare accurate and timely inputs to financial reporting packages
- Prepare working papers, journal entries, and account reconciliations for complex matters
- Responsible for the accuracy and completeness of monthly Balance Sheet account reconciliations and analysis
- Perform various ad-hoc financial analysis
- Lead and/or assist with annual and mid-year forecasting
- Responsible for system improvements, functionality, and upgrades in the PeopleSoft ERP system
- Ensure compliance with internal controls
- Participate in the year-end audit
- Lead the implementation of projects and process improvements in the department
- Support the transition of acquisitions and expansion in the business
- Participate in ongoing internal and/or external continuing education activities
- Adhere to Bayshore Policies and Procedures.
- Participate in quality activities and continuous improvement initiatives in keeping with the company's Quality Management System
- Maintains confidentiality of client and corporate information and discusses same only with appropriate Bayshore personnel
- Complete other tasks as requested

Job Qualification

**Education**

Post-secondary Degree and completion of CPA accounting designation.

**Experience**

Five years of related accounting experience; a proven track record in balance sheet analysis and spreadsheet usage; strong working knowledge of Excel and Power Point; at least 2 years of experience managing a team; experience working in a fast paced, growth organization

**Other Skills and Abilities**

Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently, as part of a team and to mentor a team; ability to meet deadlines; strong commitment to continued learning; attention to detail; ability to take leadership role with the team and in special projects as required.
