We are recruiting for a Quality Programs Manager for our facility in Cambridge, Ontario.

JOB PURPOSE

To ensure BWXT and approved suppliers’ quality program(s) meets all regulatory and customer requirements. Oversee development and implementation of quality assurance program.

JOB STRUCTURE

This job reports to the Vice President, Components. The Supplier Quality and Systems Manager, Quality Engineering Supervisor, QA Specialist, Source Assurance Inspector, Source Assurance Coordinator, Quality Engineers, Document Control Supervisor and QC Manager report directly to this position. This position reports and resolves quality issues with external clients.

RESPONSIBILITIES

**Maintains BWXT’s Certifications for Supplying Items and Services to the Nuclear Industry**
- Schedules, leads audits by regulatory bodies, including ASME, TSSA and ISO.
- Schedules, leads audits by current and potential BWXT customers.
- Updates and monitors BWXT quality program to ensure it meets all regulatory and customer requirements.

**Function Efficiency**
- Monitor and improvee the function of the Quality Assurance department, which includes Quality Engineers, Source Assurance, Quality Records and Document Control.

**Supplier Quality**
- Reviews and approves suppliers to be maintained on BWXT’s Approved Supplier List.
- Monitors supplier’s quality and takes appropriate actions for poor quality.

**Reports out Effectiveness of Quality**
- Monitors and maintains quality metrics.
- Reports out monthly to President and their staff effectiveness of quality program.

**General Accountabilities**
- Manages and oversees tasks associated with inspecting and testing products.
- Ensures that products or services meet quality standards, and develops corrective actions when needed.
- Develops, implements, and assesses processes and policies designed to test products and services.
- Monitors and evaluates current testing processes, making recommendations for improvements when necessary.
- Enforces regulatory compliance.
- Conducts visual and physical inspections of company products and materials.
- Monitors the performance of the quality control staff, ensuring that the quality control department meets organizational objectives.
- Develops policies and programs ensuring that organizational products and processes meet established quality standards.
- Participates in the development, implementation, and administration of an organizational quality management system and monitors progress against strategic quality-related goals.
- Manages the work of a team of analysts and professionals that collect data identifying potential quality failures, evaluates quality of raw materials or components, in-progress goods, processes or operations, and implements and measures the impact of corrective actions.
- Solicits internal and external feedback with the goal of continuously improving processes or products.
- Develops and oversees department budgets.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- College diploma or University degree in Engineering, Technology or Quality.
- Experience in ASME Codes, CSA N299 and other quality standards such as ISO.
- Nuclear Manufacturing experience.
- Ten (10) years relevant experience.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the field's concepts and principles.
- Performs complex tasks typically following established processes.
- Leads and directs the work of other employees and has full authority for personnel decisions.
- Primarily focused on updating and maintaining established policies and procedures.
- Direct impact on departmental budgeting, strategic planning, and procedural change.
- Leadership and management skills.
- Detail oriented and possesses excellent judgement.
- Possesses strategic thinking, problem-solving, analytical and organizational skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team and build collaborative relationships.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent decision-making and problem management skills.
