**Dock Staff - Victoria Harbour Ferry
**_THIS POSITION IS SEASONAL and PART TIME (approximately 25 hrs/week)_**

If you enjoy working outdoors and creating memorable experiences for locals and tourists, we are excited to hear from you. As a member of the Victoria Harbour Ferry dock team, your primary job is to sell tickets to passengers wishing to use the water taxi service or to take a tour. Efficiency and a happy demeanor are key succeeding in this busy environment. Often the first point of contact for the company, you embody and uphold the company motto of “Happy People in Happy Boats.”

**Job Responsibilities and Expectations**
- To sell water taxi and tour tickets and to coordinate the flow of passengers from one of two main docks
- Capable of working in a very busy environment
- Ability to work harmoniously with customers, Captains and fellow team members
- Must be able to stand for extended periods
- Comfortable working outside in a variety of weather conditions
- Reliability, flexibility and punctuality are expected
- Must be available for a variety of 6-7 hour shifts in between 9:00 am to 9:30 pm, 7 days a week and on all Statutory holidays
- Vacation time is not permitted in the months of May, June, July and August
- The season runs from March to October with potential for additional special events in the off-season

**Qualifications**
- High school graduation or equivalent
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
- Sales or customer service experience is an asset
- Certification required before or shortly after hiring:
ROC-M (VHF) Radio License Certificate (_may be obtained at Heads Up Navigation in Sidney or Western Marine Training Institute in Ladysmith_)
