National Shunt Services is looking for a Data Analyst to join our team working out of our Cobourg, Ontario location.

This is a new role and a new department within a rapidly growing business, which presents an excellent opportunity for the right minded individual to build and create something unique.

**What you will be doing**:

- Support business by providing professional data visualizations of operational data in Tableau;
- Work closely with operation and business teams to determine requirements for new visualizations;
- Create and maintain dashboards, ongoing reports, and ad hoc requests from the team
- Assist with the assembly of large, complex data sets that meet functional/non-functional business requirements.
- Work on new data sources, including the sanitization of data in Python and Tableau
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure data insights are understood and acted on
- Work with all stakeholders to design additional metrics - what can we and should we measure
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Ensure process is in place to measure, capture and continuously improve the Data & Analytics function within the business

**What we are looking for**:

- Completion of post-secondary education in a technical field (e.g., Mathematics, Sciences, Statistics, Economics, Financial or Operations Management, etc.) or a combination of equivalent education and experience in a related role.
- Someone who finds real enjoyment working with data, processes and understanding the story behind the numbers
- 1-3 years of experience working with data, analytics would be nice to have
- Demonstrated experience in creating innovative tools and resources to communicate complex data to various stakeholders
- 1-2 years of experience developing complex Tableau reports & dashboard
- Ability to design dashboards from multiple data sources, including large data sets like Hive, Hadoop, and SQL
- Working knowledge with programming, business intelligence software and databases (e.g. Tableau, Tableau-prep, Python, SQL, Hadoop, Google Cloud Platform etc.)
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to develop and deliver presentations to small and large teams
