The **Inuulitsivik Health Centre (IHC)** is currently looking for a **Director of Youth Protection** to work in the villages along the Hudson Bay coast with the communities.
Working at the Inuulitsivik Health Centre (IHC) means being part of a dedicated team focused on improving the health, well-being, and living conditions of Inuit communities by providing accessible and integrated services. The IHC has over 1,100 employees and is part of the Quebec health and social services network, in the Nunavik region. It provides health and social services to the population of 8,000 people in the 7 communities of the Hudson Bay area, from Kuujjuarapik to Salluit. It also manages Ullivik, a service located in Dorval that hosts Inuit people who travel to the south of the province for specialized care.

**Employment Conditions - Director of Youth Protection - Grand North (Villages of the Hudson Bay Coast)**
**Salary**:
According to the salary scale corresponding to Class 43, between $106,683 and $141,289 per year + applicable northern premiums.

- Northern premiums and other employment conditions:
- Distance premium (without dependents) between $203.66 and $240.25 per week, or between $358.99 and $423.53 (with dependents) per week, depending on the village
- Retention premium between $114.99 and $225.18 per week, depending on the village and seniority
- Cost of living premium: between $58.40 and $188.72 per week, depending on the village
- Reimbursement of flight tickets for 3 or 4 trips per year
- Furnished accommodation that meets your needs (taxable benefit)
- Reimbursement of personal belongings transport and storage fees
**Key Responsibilities - Director of Youth Protection - Grand North (Villages of the Hudson Bay Coast)**:
- Ensure the development, maintenance, organization, distribution, evaluation, and review of services under the Youth Protection Act.
- Determine the admissibility of reports concerning a child whose safety or development may be considered compromised and impose emergency measures such as removal or placement, if necessary.
- Decide if the safety or development of a child is compromised and, if so, take charge of the situation, decide on its orientation, propose voluntary measures, or refer the case to the court.
- Investigate, as applicable, any matters within your jurisdiction, including entering a location to search for and bring in the child or a facility to consult the child's file.
- Authorize, if necessary in emergencies, during the period when emergency measures are applied, the provision of medical services and other care deemed necessary for the child, without parental consent or a court order.
- Designate the reception center, hospital when the court orders the mandatory placement of a child, and ensure that the placement is carried out under appropriate conditions.
- Submit a report to the court regarding the child's social situation, which may include additional assessments, such as psychological or medical evaluations, to inform the court on appropriate measures.
- Communicate regularly with the child and family and ensure that the child’s living conditions are understood.
- Periodically review the situation of each child or adolescent under care and decide on closing the case if applicable.
- Make available the services provided under the Youth Protection Act every day of the week, 24 hours a day.
- Authorize, as appropriate, the exercise of certain powers and responsibilities delegated to you under the Youth Protection Act.
- Ensure the development, maintenance, organization, distribution, evaluation, and review of services related to adoption under your jurisdiction.
- Receive the necessary consents for adoption or request the court to declare a child judicially adoptable.
- Exercise parental authority for adoptable children until the placement order for adoption or until they reach adulthood.
- Exercise, when applicable, the guardianship granted by the Superior Court.
- Conduct the psychosocial evaluation of the person wishing to adopt a child, whether residing in Quebec or abroad in certain cases.
- Ensure the development, maintenance, organization, distribution, evaluation, and review of services within your jurisdiction related to the Young Offenders Act.
