**Outside Sales Consultant**

Construx Building Products is a supplier of structural building products, value-added components, and services to the professional market for new residential, commercial, agricultural construction and repair and remodeling. Our focus is on providing unparalleled service to both large and small customers.

We provide an integrated solution to our customers to help them shorten construction cycle times, reduce construction costs, increase build quality, improve safety, and reduce waste. We manufacture wall panels tailored to the specific needs of our customers. We carry a full line of professional grade building products, such as dimensional lumber and lumber sheet goods and various window, door, millwork lines and custom order floor and truss packages, stairs, custom millwork and trim, and interior and exterior doors. We also offer an extensive range of construction-related services, including design services, product installation, and turn-key framing.

**Summary**

Reporting to the Branch Manager, the Outside Sales Consultant is accountable for providing building envelope product sales to new and existing clients in the Alberta region. This includes developing new client prospects and building relationships with existing customers within various building industries. The Outside Sales Consultant plays a strategic role in supporting the growth of our Saskatoon Branch and Saskatchewan-based operations.

Responsibilities include the following:

- Identify and target new sales opportunities within the region
- Develop strategies, along with the Branch Manager in the pursuit of new growth initiatives to diversify growth as well as market share
- Research the market, key players and watch for trends / opportunities in the market and related industries
- Regular reporting to the Branch Manager
- Potential site visits to review client needs and specifications.
- Provide proposal packages and pricing for potential clients.
- Consistently maintains a superior standard of customer satisfaction and service excellence.

**Education, Experience and Knowledge**

The following qualifications are required:

- 2+ years sale experience.
- Understanding of framing / building construction an asset, but not a requirement.
- Working knowledge of construction engineering specifications and design including building materials, and construction specifications.
- Strategic problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail
- Team player who is versatile and adaptable.
- Familiar with municipal / provincial standards and codes related to the industry.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- Autonomous and organized.
- Good judgement and strong analytical capacity
- Proven ability to communicate clearly and concisely
- Ability to handle multiple projects during high volume periods
- Valid driver’s licence and a means of reliable transportation.
