- Who We’re Looking For_

**Experience**:

- Minimum 1-year experience working directly with children, OR related experience in a childcare setting, working with school-age children is preferred but not required

**Education**:

- Diploma in a field related to childcare such as Early Childhood Education is an advantage
- A Diploma in Child & Youth Worker, Child and Youth Care, OCT, Education Assistant, Social Worker, or Recreation & Leisure may also be considered.

**Certifications**:

- Member in good standing with the **College of Early Childhood Educators (ECEs)**is preferred but not required
- ** Standard First Aid with CPR Level C**:

- ** Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Police Check**:

- ** Up-to-date immunization** for TB, Tetanus, and MMR

**Skills**:

- Knowledge of the Ministry of Education’s _How Does Learning Happen_ framework is an asset.

**Characteristics**:

- Willingness to work in an on-call capacity with flexible scheduling
- Availability to work a minimum of 3 days per week, Monday to Friday, within the 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM time frame.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, flexible environment with mínimal supervision
- Flexibility and adaptability to be assigned in multiple locations, with mínimal supervision.

- Key Responsibilities:_
- Reporting to assigned childcare centres to support full
- and part-time staff
- Establishing goals, planning, implementing, and evaluating developmentally appropriate activities to support children’s cognitive, physical, social, and emotional growth in line with the _How Does Learning Happen_ framework
- Maintaining a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children while fostering professional relationships with Hamilton Wentworth District School Board faculty
