Duties and responsibilities include reviewing and spreading Company's policies, managing daily operations, planning the use of materials and human resources and proposing initiatives and actions for the long-term growth of the Company. The Plant Manager will report directly to the Operations Director for Canada and will be also responsible to accomplish with main KPIs, like production, productivity, OEE and plant/product costs. Plant Manager responsibilities also include follow-up with the planning team regarding the S&OP process and with the Project Team regarding the Capex requirement and ongoing projects. They must be "the face" of the company behind the local stakeholders, for example the community. Duties/Responsibilities - Complete production plan by scheduling employees, establishing priorities, monitoring progress, and resolving problems to ensure customer requirements are met. - Establish and enforce organization standards to maintain quality of products. - Ensure operation of production equipment by calling for repairs when required. - Actively participate in the safety processes of the plant including posting safety bulletins, performing monthly safety walks and training, as well as any reporting required. - Maintain safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures. - Conduct daily meetings with production crew. - Conduct and lead safety meetings and do safety observations and observe unsafe Acts at the Plant. - Monitor all inventory daily and order supplies and raw material as needed. - Perform necessary receiving duties for all inbound materials and supplies. - Complete all daily assemblies, shippers, and packing slips. - Maintain staffing needs by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees; develop personal growth opportunities for all employees. - Achieve staff results by communicating job expectations, planning, monitoring, appraising job results, coaching, counseling, disciplining employees, and enforcing policies and procedures. - Resolve personnel problems by investigating issues, identifying solutions and recommending action. - Timely approve and submit payroll for all hourly employees. - Acts as focal point to guarantee that safety, health, and respect of everyone is being observed - Hires and trains new employees - Organizes and oversees the schedules and work of assigned staff - Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive as well as proposes specific training for filling eventual gaps on the team - Handles discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy and frequent alignment with HR area - Performs other related duties as required. Required Skills/Abilities - Excellent supervisory skills. - Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles. - Six Sigma certification is a plus. - Knowledge of operations and production management. - Excellent organizational skills and attention to details. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software. Education and Experience - Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or related field. Otherwise, at least 10+ years comparable work experience. - M. Sc. Or MBA is a plus. - At least 5 years of related experience required. Physical Requirements - Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. - Must be able to access and navigate the production facility. - Must be able to lift 15 pounds at a time.
