Job Profile

There is a temporary opening for the above position within the Community Development Department, Planning Services Division available immediately. Reporting to the Acting Manager of Site Plans and Special Projects this position is responsible for the following duties:
What you will be doing

Effectively communicates with applicants and the public.

Prepares and delivers presentations at Committee of Adjustment Hearings and/or Council meetings and responds to questions raised by the Committee or Council.

Participates at the Ontario Land Tribunal by providing expert advice, if required.

Education

Possession of a four-year Undergraduate Degree in Planning or Urban Design, or equivalent.

Experience and Knowledge

Current memberships in the Canadian Institute of Planners and the Ontario Professional Planners Institute.

Knowledge of the Planning Act and other relevant planning legislation.

Urban design experience or education is considered an asset.

Registered Professional Planners designation through the Ontario Professional Planners Institute.

Proof of your current and valid certificate(s) and/or educational qualifications.
Valid G driver's license.
Worker Health and Safety Awareness Training Certificate from the Ministry of Labour
Your compensation

This position is within Grade 11 of the inside workers union salary schedule and has an hourly range of $47.93 to $50.94.

Comprehensive Benefits Package and OMERS Pension Plan included.

Hours of work

The regular hours of work are in accordance with the collective agreement, however, currently are 8:30am to 4:30pm. (35 hours per week), Monday to Friday.
