We are currently looking for a Procurement Specialist to join our finance and Accounting team. This position is able to be located in any of our Waterloo, Ontario or Montreal, Quebec office.
**Responsibilities**:
- Preparation of purchase orders for goods and services
- Review purchase orders prepared by others for compliance with Procurement Guidelines
- Ensure compliance to company guidelines, purchasing policies and procedures during supplier negotiations and contracts award process.
- Sourcing, negotiating, and buying of goods and services to meet the Company’s operational requirements.
- Make revisions and closeout of purchase orders
- Liaise with suppliers and project managers regarding purchase orders and delivery
- Work closely with the projects team to understand details of procurement requirements
- Assist with vendor onboarding and prequalification
- Work with Accounts Payable to resolve discrepancies between purchase orders and invoices
- Establish and maintain effective and collaborative working relationships with internal and external customers
- Maintain Procurement files
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 1 year experience in Procurement
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Outstanding communication skills and rapport building
- Strong understanding of contractual agreements
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Bilingual in English and French is considered an asset
