**SUMMARY**:
The
**Construction Project Coordinator**, in a supporting role to the Construction Project Manager, is responsible for overseeing the day to day construction activities on sites

**PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Oversees the Construction Management’s Quality Assurance and Quality Control activities on the project sites and ensure contractors’ compliance to contract requirements, drawings, and specifications.
- Management of Owner’s third-party QA & QC consultants on various construction testing and inspection services in the areas of geotechnical, environmental, concrete, roofing, etc.
- Ensures that all technical aspects of the contractors’ work conform to all applicable codes and standards.
- Ensures contractors’ compliance to maintaining and documenting records of all testing and inspections.
- Monitors schedules on a regular basis, under the guidance and direction of the owner’s Construction Project Management Team.
- Reviews and monitor regularly contractor actual construction progress vs. schedule.
- Assists the owner’s Construction Project Manager in verification of payment quantities.
- Reports regularly to the owner’s Construction Project Manager on construction progress, site issues, deviations, etc.
- Ensures contractors’ compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Act and MOL-OSHA regulation on construction sites.

**REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE**:

- University degree in Engineering and/or related post-Secondary education in Architectural & Construction Technology, Civil Engineering is a definite asset.
- Professional Engineer status or Engineer in Training would be a definite asset.
- Experience & background in construction of industrial building construction is a definite asset.
- Experience using AutoCAD and Microsoft Project.
- Valid Ontario Class “G” driver’s license free of serious offences under the Highway Traffic Act and access to a reliable vehicle.
- Good understanding of all Health & Safety, Environmental regulations and various Building & Safety code standards such as the Ontario Building Code, Ontario MOL-OSHA Green Book, NFPA, ESA, TSSA.
- Strong knowledge of construction materials and methods of construction delivery.
- Strong knowledge of various engineering disciplines in construction (Architectural, Civil, Site Services, Structural, Mechanical & Electrical Systems, HVAC Systems, Building Life Safety systems such as Sprinklers, Fire Protection and Alarm Systems).
- Experience & background in construction of industrial buildings is a definite asset.
- Ability to read and understand advanced detailed engineering drawings, construction shop drawings and technical specifications.
- Ability & knowledge to work safety in a construction environment.
- Good command of the English language is required.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills are required.
- “Roll-up your sleeves” can-do attitude and eager to learn.
- Flexibility to adjust to shifting priorities and deadlines.
- Role requires a vehicle for travelling between sites and off-site locations.
- Flexibility to work weekends or evenings when required.
