**Position**: Construction Estimator/Technologist - 1 position

Minimum 2 years’ experience in the North American market

**Employment Type**: Full Time.

**Office Hours**: Monday to Friday - 8:30am - 5pm, possible overtime as required.

This is an office-based role with the ability to work 1 day per week from home.

**Salary**: Based upon experience, Plus Bonus Plan

The Construction Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate estimates for both small and large sized commercial construction projects, specifically cinema. They will be required to analyze information, specifications, proposals, and important metrics, to provide quantity take-off and accurate costing. The estimating process includes reading drawings, quantity take-off, writing proposals, and obtaining costs for materials and subcontractors.

**Duties/Responsibilities**:
Interpret the plans and specifications and make the necessary calculations for pricing of tenders.

Prepare pre-qualification and/or tender submissions so sales can present them to clients.

Review project plans, specifications, and other documents to determine the scope of work and materials required.

Compute quantities using estimating software and/or an excel spreadsheet.

Identify potential conflicts between project documents.

Analyze quantities of specific change orders for extras pricing.

Maintain files of working documents as back-up for estimate figures, including current/accurate information on prices from suppliers and subcontractors.

Create and submit estimate reports, quote sheets and/or bid forms to appropriate persons.

Ensure that worksheets and related take-off forms/submittals are presented in a way that is clearly understandable to others reviewing the information.

Prepare CAD Files with correct information for each project to handover to Project Manager and Technical Department.

Prepare accurate and detailed construction cost estimates for projects.

Collaborate with project managers, architects, and subcontractors to gather necessary information for estimating purposes.

Utilize construction software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Photo Shop, Microsoft Excel, and/or Microsoft Projects to create comprehensive estimates.

Analyze project drawings and specifications to identify potential issues or discrepancies.

Research and source materials, equipment, and subcontractor pricing to ensure competitive bids.

Maintain accurate records of estimates, bids, and related documentation.

**Requirements**:
2-4 years of proven experience as a Construction Estimator or similar role in the construction industry

Proven experience in construction estimating in Canada and US.

Strong knowledge of construction practices, materials, and methods

Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Provide clear and detailed breakdowns and maintain accurate records of cost estimates, including labour hours, quantities, unit costs, and overhead expenses.

Construction Estimating and Quantity Take-offs skills.

Cost Management and Budgeting skills

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in cost estimation.

Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and contracts.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team, estimating multiple projects simultaneously.
