**MANAGER OF DEVELOPMENT**

**POSITION OVERVIEW**:
Join our wonderful and dynamic community The Thomas More Institute (TMI) is a small, liberal arts educational non-profit affiliated with Bishop’s University. The Institute offers university-level courses designed for the cultural and academic advancement of adults. We are seeking a highly organized, creative, and tech-savvy Manager of Development to join our small, vibrant organization. As an integral member of our team, you will play a crucial role in raising money for the Institute. This position requires excellent people skills, a creative and dynamic mindset, and the drive to make a difference for a small nonprofit organization.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**

**Fundraising (60%)**
- Plan and implement TMI’s annual appeal,
- Create a legacy donations program and a monthly giving program,
- With the help of the TMI board, build and maintain relationships with current and potential donors, both inside and outside of the TMI community,
- Manage donor database.

**Grant Applications (40%)**
- Build and maintain relationships with persons at granting agencies,
- Oversee fulfilment of grants as appropriate and write reports to granting agencies

**Reports to**: The Chair of the Thomas More Institute.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Experience in fundraising, including grant writing,
- Fluent English, written and spoken, and strong proficiency in French,
- Strong organizational and time management skills,
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently, with a proactive and flexible approach,
- Excellent relationship management, positive attitude, mission-driven, and self-directed,
- Experience with Canva and donation databases.

**CONDITIONS**:

- Full Time,
- Salary range: $70,000 - $75,000 per year,
- Flexible working hours and remote workdays possible,
- 4 weeks’ vacation taken when the Institute is closed (two weeks at the end of the year and two weeks during the summer).

L’Institut offre des cours de niveau universitaire conçus pour l’avancement culturel et académique des adultes. Nous recherchons une personne fortement organisée, créative et technophile pour assumer les fonctions de gestionnaire du développement, des collectes de fonds et des finances au sein de notre petite organisation dynamique. À titre de membre à part entière de notre équipe, vous assumerez un rôle essentiel en menant des campagnes de financement et en supervisant les finances de l’Institut. Ce poste exige d’excellentes aptitudes en relations interpersonnelles, une mentalité créative et dynamique et la motivation voulue pour jouer un rôle décisif dans un organisme sans but lucratif de taille modeste.

**PRINCIPALES RESPONSABILITÉS**

**Collectes de fonds (60 %)**
- Planifier et mettre en œuvre la campagne de financement annuelle de l’ITM,
- Créer un programme de legs et un programme de dons mensuels,
- Avec l’aide du conseil d’administration de l’ITM, créer et maintenir des relations avec des donateurs actuels et potentiels, tant à l’intérieur qu’à l’extérieur de la communauté de l’ITM.
- Gérer la base de données des donateurs.

**Demandes de subventions (40 %)**
- Déterminer, rechercher et présenter des demandes de subventions pour les organismes gouvernementaux, les fondations et possiblement des entreprises,
- Établir et maintenir des relations avec des responsables des organismes subventionnaires,
- Superviser le suivi des demandes de subventions au besoin et préparer des rapports pour les organismes subventionnaires.

**Supérieur immédiat**: La présidente de l’Institut Thomas More.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Expérience en campagnes de financement, y compris en demandes de subventions,
- Maîtrise de l’anglais écrit et parlé et forte maîtrise du français,
- Fortes compétences organisationnelles et compétences en gestion du temps,
- Capacité de travailler tant en collaboration que de manière indépendante, avec une approche proactive et souple,
- Excellente gestion des relations interpersonnelles, attitude positive, consécration à la mission et autonomie,
- Très bonne connaissance de Canva.

**CONDITIONS**:

- Poste à temps plein
- Gamme salariale: 70 000 $ à 75 000 $ par année,
- Horaires de travail flexibles et possibilité de travailler à distance,
- Quatre semaines de vacances lorsque l’Institut est fermé, soit respectivement deux semaines en décembre pendant le temps des fêtes et deux semaines en juillet pendant l’été.
