Summer Student - Foundation Intern - Coordinator, Special Events - **Paid** (16 week fixed term)

**Position Summary**

**Key Responsibilities**
- Assist in building STARS’ presence in the community by fostering new and ongoing relationships with individuals and groups in the communities we serve;
- Assists as requested with event coordination - booking, communications, event participation support;
- Helps set up, take down any event materials such as tables, chairs, banners, food and beverages;
- Connect with local businesses across Province to solicit event prize donations and silent auction items as requested;
- Work with external event partners across Province, acting as a support and point of contact for various external event organizers;
- Acts as support point of contact at times for event volunteers as requested;
- Work with team member partners to assist in booking logístical components for events such as Radiothon, Rescue and golf tournaments, etc.;
- Assists with data entry in Raisers Edge as required;
- Other duties as assigned.

**Experience and Education**
- New post secondary graduate or student currently enrolled in a post-secondary institution;
- Volunteer experience examples inside the community;
- Experience organizing events and working with volunteers in the community as asset;
- A valid driver’s licence is required.
