**The Opportunity**:
The City of Red Deer is currently recruiting a **Transit Dispatcher (Conventional)** to fill a permanent part-time position. The Transit Dispatcher will ensure that the daily complement of staffing and equipment is supplied to Transit Operations. The Transit Dispatcher will perform general dispatch duties.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Proficiency with Windows, spreadsheets, and word processing software.
- One year experience as a bus operator is preferred.
- Must have the ability to successfully complete training of Trapeze and MAIOR scheduling software.
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles.
- General knowledge of business office functions.
- Must demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively and constructively with department staff members, other city departments, the public and lead by example.
- Preference will be given to applicants with previous Dispatch experience in a municipal Transit environment.
- Preference will be given to applicants with a Class 2 Drivers License with Air Endorsement.
- Must have the ability to successfully complete Corporate Driver Training, relative to the vehicles being driven.

**Remuneration**:
$38.27 per hour

**Hours of Work**:
Up to 80 hours biweekly, as scheduled. Shift work will include early mornings, dayshifts, evenings and weekend coverage.
