Sustained by its 65 years experience, Manitoulin developed the transportation knowledge that is relied on and trusted by clients in various industries.ResponsibilitiesCompleting local deliveries and pick-ups within Red Deer and the surrounding area in a timely and efficient mannerConducting thorough pre and post-trip inspections of the assigned vehicle to ensure safety and compliance with DOT regulationsPerforming routine maintenance checks and reporting any vehicle issues to the maintenance departmentAccurately loading and unloading freight, ensuring proper handling and securing of cargoOperating material handling equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks, when necessaryMaintaining accurate and up-to-date logs of driving hours, mileage, and delivery recordsAssisting with dock work, including sorting, labeling, and organizing shipmentsProviding excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients and addressing any concerns or special requestsAdhering to all company policies, safety procedures, and traffic lawsMaintaining a clean and organized vehicle interior and exteriorCollaborating with dispatch and other team members to optimize routes and delivery schedulesParticipating in ongoing safety training and professional development programsDemonstrating flexibility in availability to accommodate occasional schedule changes or additional shifts as requiredA normal work week will be Monday to Friday; however, some flexibility in availability will occasionally be required to meet business needs and customer expectations.QualificationsValid Class 1 license with a clean driving recordMinimum of 1 year of Class 1 driving experiencePhysically fit and able to lift up to 50 lbs regularlyReliable and dependable with excellent time management skillsTDG (Transportation of Dangerous Goods) certificationWHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System) certificationForklift certification (preferred)High school diploma or equivalentExcellent communication and customer service skillsStrong problem-solving abilities and attention to detailProficiency in using GPS navigation systems and mobile devicesBasic mechanical knowledge for routine vehicle inspectionsFlexibility to work occasional overtime or weekends as neededAbility to work independently and as part of a teamMust be able to provide a criminal record check, driver's abstract, and 2 work-related referencesAdditional InformationWhat do we offer you?Competitive Wages $26.35 to startComprehensive Benefits ProgramProfit Sharing OpportunitiesOpportunities for growth and advancementWe would like to thank all those expressing an interest in this position; however only the candidates selected for an interview will be contacted. #J-18808-Ljbffr
