Job Summary
- The Coordination Advisor for Prevention will implement and lead a Smoking Cessation model for the Central Region and coordinate prevention initiatives for the program.
- The Coordination Advisor will be responsible for the Prevention and Screening Program’s performance management and reporting.
- This role is accountable for collecting, consolidating, analyzing, disseminating, and reporting volumes, prevention and screening rates, wait times, and other relevant performance data for the program.
- The Coordination Advisor for Prevention is responsible for providing oversight to data quality processes.
**Qualifications**:
- Degree in a Health Related Science (Masters’ degree preferred) or Regulated Health Profession
- Three years of experience in a health related field required
- Minimum of three years in health information data analysis required
- Prior experience or education in Smoking Cessation counseling preferred.
- TEACH certification considered an asset.
- Knowledge of Cancer Prevention and Screening Programs is essential.
- Experience in delivery of patient and staff education.
- Experience in a Regional Cancer Centre or within a Regional Cancer Program considered an asset.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Strong planning and analytical skills.
- Strong attention to detail, data accuracy and thorough follow-up.

- Strong systems thinking focus, a strategic thinker able to look at information management horizontally across the organization and the Regional Cancer Program in general.
- Utilizes effective listening skills to maximize understanding of issues.
- Provides a comfortable, respectful, confidential environment for team members to discuss issues.
- Facilitates an environment that expects team members to resolve issues in a respectful, non-confrontational manner.

Primary Responsibilities
- Attends/participates in educational opportunities i.e. conferences and workshops.
- Participates in working groups and committees when required.
- Facilitates meetings when required.
- Ability to adapt to a flexible schedule as required by the program. May include evening and weekend community events.
- Prepares and analyzes monthly, quarterly and annual reports on Prevention and Screening activity.
- Supports Continuous Quality Initiatives within the Cancer Program.
- Participates in orientation of new staff as appropriate.
- Complies with privacy legislation and policies and procedures when reporting Cancer Centre data.
- Performs cross-functional duties as assigned or requested.
