If you are just starting out in the service industry and are passionate about food and delivering friendly customer service, this is the job for you.

We are looking for a team member that wants dependable day shift hours, working in a private cafeteria setting at a Corkstown Road location. Shift times would be 5:30AM-11AM Monday to Friday with weekend availability if required.

For those that require transportation, there are O/C Transpo buses that stop near 185 Corkstown Road. They are the 57 and 66. It would be a short 3 minute walk to the building.

**Responsibilities**:

- Ensure all menu items are prepared and served according to departmental policies and procedure
- Cleans utensils, equipment, and the storage, food preparation and serving areas for the purpose of maintaining sanitary conditions;
- Collect payment using cash register;
- Prepares and serves food and beverage items;
- Maintain a clean and welcoming appearance of all equipment and serving counters
- Ensure that the correct quantities are prepared to meet daily needs. Perform other related duties as required

Qualifications:

- Must be eligible to obtain a security clearance;
- Cooking experience in a high volume establishment;
- Food handler certification from City of Ottawa;
- Basic math skills, with ability to calculate change;
- Ability to use serving and preparation tools and equipment;
- Good understanding of food handling safety practices;
- Excellent customer service skills and ability to work with others;
- Must be able to stand for long periods of the work day;

**Salary**: From $18.00 per hour

- Kanata, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- serving/cooking: 2 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Food Handler Certification (preferred)
