This position is a mix of content production, strategy and copywriting. The Social Media Specialist will play a key role in supporting the Manager, Global Social Media Strategy to develop and deliver WSP’s Global social media strategy and standards.
In this role, you’ll be writing, planning and developing social content You have an affinity for words and love a good content calendar. You have an editorial mindset and know how to distill complex content into social soundbites that resonate with a global audience. You’re curious about how our content is performing and how to drive social media engagement. You are comfortable writing how-to guides and can work with the team to create high-quality resource material.

**A day in the life**:
- Works with the Manager, Global Social Media Strategy to develop social media content
- Writes engaging social media copy and implements best practices
- Coordinates the development of engaging content for social media platforms
- Manages the social media content calendar
- Provides community management, interacting with followers and responding to social media messages, inquiries, and comments
- Run paid social media marketing campaigns, prepare campaign reports
- Track channel health metrics, through establish scorecard methodology
- Measure post engagement, report analytics and make recommendations for improvement
- Support in managing our Social Media Management platform (Sprout), including campaign tagging, listening, reporting and calendaring
- Monitor social media channels for industry trends
***What you'll bring to WSP...**:
- Minimum of five years of relevant work experience in corporate communications and in a business/professional services environment
- Bachelor's degree in journalism, marketing, or communications
- Strong writer who can craft quality content
- Excellent editing skills
- Excellent time-management and organizational skills
- Strong understanding social media tools, platforms and best practices
- Ability to work independently and the confidence to make recommendations
- Critical thinker with strategic mindset and strong editorial and reputational judgment and issues management experience
- French an asset, but not required
