**Position Status**: 1 Part-time, Permanent Position (7am-3pm, Thursday-Sunday)

**Key Responsibilities**
- Work with families to deliver therapeutic interventions and innovative case management through outreach to increase the family’s wellbeing, engagement, and capacity to support their child/children.
- Facilitate family/caregiver education sessions and workshops.
- Develop, capture, and analyze program data to ensure the program’s effectiveness, interventions and therapeutic support continue to increase families’ engagement and promote positive relationships within the MNA FRP.
- Actively engage with families and key community services through case coordination and referrals to collectively build and sustain positive pathways and connection to employment, education, and the wider community.
- Develop, collate, and distribute resources that support parents/caregivers in their roles.
- Participate in regular program meetings as required.
- Participate in professional development courses, workshops, or other opportunities, as required.
- Ensure that all Child Safe, risk management, and MNA FRP documentation is adhered to, whilst contributing to a culture of continuous review, improvement, and achievement of the MNA FRP Strategic Plan (SP) and Annual Implementation Plans (AIP).
- Ensure services meet relevant service standards and are delivered within the framework of legislative requirements and MNA FRP policies and procedures.
- Perform administrative duties such as preparing contact notes and critical incident reports, maintaining client files, and preparing other documentation as requested.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities, as required.

**Skills & Competencies**

The Family Preservation and Reunification Worker position requires motivated, coachable, and organized individuals who enjoy being part of a diverse team and have a passion for Métis children and families. This position requires excellent interpersonal communication skills and problem-solving abilities to effectively develop and maintain programs.
- An in-depth understanding of the Métis Nation of Alberta and Métis culture, people, and values.
- Culturally sensitive, trauma-informed, and compassionate with an ability to engage with community members in diverse settings.
- Knowledge and experience working with families who have experienced trauma, addictions, and emotional or mental challenges.
- A strategic thinker and problem solver who can anticipate challenges, determine required outcomes, and use innovative approaches to develop a supportive relationship with residents.
- Strong sense of ethics and the ability to handle sensitive or confidential information with tact and discretion.
- Excellent organizational skills, including efficiently responding to numerous demands, short deadlines, and complex and varied inquiries from staff, residents, and stakeholders.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities and requirements.
- Ability to work effectively in a stressful environment and communicate and respond calmly in difficult situations.
- A proven track record of building collaborative partnerships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders, including government, industry, service providers, and community.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

**Qualifications**
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in Social Sciences, Human Services Administration, Addiction/Recovery, or Human Ecology is preferred. Equivalent experiences and/or certifications will be considered.
- 2-3 years experience working in a Human Services position.
- Indigenous Awareness Training is an asset.

**Other Requirements**
- Availability to work assigned shift (daytime, evening, or overnight).
- Must be willing to travel within Alberta and work irregular hours.
- Must have a valid Class 5 Driver’s License, operational vehicle, and proof of insurance and vehicle registration.
- Clear Vulnerable Sector Check, Criminal Record Check, and Child Intervention Record Check is required.
- Current First Aid and CPR certifications.
