**What you will be doing**:
As a Youth Reunification Worker, you will be working collaboratively as part of a team with other professionals to meet the needs of youth, their families, and communities that lead to successful outcomes. Within the Youth Reunification homes, you will help to foster a family-oriented environment for youth aged 13 - 18 years by working within a relational, developmental model and utilizing a harm reduction, attachment-based approach. Your role will be to support youth to re-connect to family and community in meaningful ways, creating long lasting, permanent relationships. You will also encourage and support the development of healthy living skills. In order to ensure a safe, stable and consistent environment for the youth, Youth Reunification homes are supported 24 hours a day by team members working 12-hour shifts (days and nights) on a consistent rotation.
- Teaching, modeling and supporting attachment based parenting
- Attending to the daily maintenance of the home
- Transport clients to appointments
- Are responsible for providing trauma informed care
- Teach and model appropriate parenting and household management skills
- Provide emotional support to families
- Strengthen relationships by empowering and nurturing the emotional bond between child/youth and their caregivers.
- Observes and documents family interactions, focusing on strengths, concerns and areas of growth
- Monitor the ongoing success or challenges inherent in the reunification experience, continue to identify emerging or enhanced strengths, and develop new strategies for additional assets
- Reinforce teaching from other professionals working with the family
- Maintaining a focus on general wellbeing, with a focus on trauma and attachment
- Assists the family in connecting to community resources
- Completing administrative responsibilities as required
- Attends staff meetings, service team meetings, trainings and supervision meetings as required
- Provide support & shift coverage in both the Family & Youth Reunification Homes, as required

**What you will bring to the role**:

- Diploma or Degree in Child & Youth Care, Early Childhood Development or Human Services Field and equivalent experience
- Minimum 2 year experience (preferably residential)
- Experience working with families from diverse cultures
- Proficient oral and written communication skills
- Requires knowledge, skills, and abilities to work with people affected by trauma
- Requires knowledge of and competence in delivering trauma informed care
- Strong interpersonal skills to help establish good working relationships with clients
- Ability to establish clear boundaries and be sensitive to the individual needs of each family
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to problem solve with a non-confrontational approach
- Reliable and flexible availability
- Excellent organizational skills and detail oriented
- Understands the meaning in teachings and values embedded in ceremony, circle processes, and relational accountability
- Understands the importance of allyship with equity-seeking communities
