Responsibilities Include:

- Plan weekly menus that meet the nutritional needs of children in our care
- Prepare and serve breakfast, lunch and snacks to children in a timely and efficient manner
- Ensure that all meals are well-balanced and meet provincial and federal nutrition guidelines
- Order and organize food supplies and maintain an inventory of kitchen items
- Clean and sanitize kitchen surfaces and equipment on a daily basis
- Follow all food safety guidelines and regulations, including proper storage and handing of food
- Communicate with parents and staff about menu options and any food allergies or dietary restrictions
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities as required

**Qualifications**:

- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Safe Food Handling Certification
- First Aid/ CPR Level C Certification
- Vulnerable Sector Check
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a professional kitchen, preferably in a childcare setting
- Knowledge of nutrition and dietary requirements for young children
- Ability to plan and execute menus that meet provincial and federal nutrition guidelines
- Excellent cooking skills and a passion for creating healthy and appealing meals
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
